Meet Michael
Leadership Rooted in East Palo Alto
Michael Mashack is a lifelong East Palo Alto community member whose family has called the city home for more than 60 years. Raised in East Palo Alto's Gardens neighborhood, Michael learned early the values of hard work, service, and creating opportunity for others.
A United States Air Force veteran, Michael went on to build a professional career in business management consulting, working in software implementation, systems transformation, and process improvement. That experience taught him how strong organizations plan, manage resources, solve problems, and remain accountable for results.
As an East Palo Alto Planning Commissioner, Michael has worked on decisions affecting housing, development, neighborhoods, and the city's future. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of Bay Area Urban Eagles, Inc., a nonprofit that has introduced more than 500 young people throughout the Bay Area to aviation, aerospace, and STEAM career pathways.
Michael believes that East Palo Alto's future should be shaped by the people who call it home, and he knows that together we can grow responsibly, protect what makes our community special, and create opportunity for every resident.
Michael is running for City Council to bring people together, strengthen accountability, practice responsible stewardship, and protect the character of our community.
